We asked Anisong to share her personal sustainability journey with us, what it means to her and how she wants to create impact at GreenBuzz. Read her answers here:
Why did you choose to join the GreenBuzz Zurich team and what role do you play within the organisation?
I choose to volunteer for the GreenBuzz Team because I wanted to be active and learn to be accountable in my contributions to a greener future. As the social media manager at GreenBuzz I help communicate our efforts with our growing audience.
What does sustainability mean to you?
Sustainability to me means to create a future for our society that is harmonious with our habitat.
In your opinion, what do you see as the biggest challenge for sustainability within your industry?
Having come from the fashion and beauty industry I have witnessed excessive consumerism at its highest. One of the biggest challenges is seeing significant and notable change within the chain of fashion. It is slow to change and difficult for many to accommodate the needs and demands of every step of the fashion chain to work towards a more sustainable future. Due to this it has caused many to be cynical about future plans to change.
And on a more optimistic note, what is a positive development within your industry with regards to sustainability (either a solution to the above-mentioned challenge or an outlook towards positive change)?
A positive is now there is more demand from consumers towards fashion and beauty brands to be more sustainable and to take accountability when they have not.
