Virtual Informal Drinks: Biomimicry – Learning from the Genius of Nature
9th September 2021, 17:30 - 19:00

“Millions of years of evolution have allowed the natural world to develop what can be argued to be the most tried, tested and optimized protocols in existence: biological networks… (that) lead to increased asset and resource productivity as well as greater system resilience.”
– Janine Benyus (The Biomimicry Institute, 2016).
Biomimicry is an emerging field which is beginning to transform our relationship with nature, something that lies at the core of the multiple global ecological crises we are facing today. How might we shift our mindset from nature as a warehouse of infinite resources to an elder we can learn from? In light of today’s needed paradigm shift, Biomimicry offers a set of guidelines emerging from nature. Natural patterns, characteristic of thriving, adaptive and evolving systems, orientate organizations towards designing resilient strategies. Our expert for this event is Asha Singhal, Executive Design Lead at Biomimicry Frontiers & Research Advisor of Sustainability at Biomimicry Academy. This event is for anyone interested in making an impact within their companies & communities, sustainability professionals from different sectors, and mid & senior level managers within companies wanting to increase their knowledge on sustainability topics. Join us in digging deeper into Biomimicry and get inspired!
However, many unanswered questions remain:
• What can we learn from nature?
• What does biomimicry look like in practice?
• And how can you begin to use it in your own work?
Join us for this important discussion in an informal event to learn from nature!
